IAPB Appoints VFAN CEO to Board of Trustees
Tom Rosewall has been appointed to the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness’ (IAPB) Board of Trustees. The Vision for a Nation (VFAN) CEO was elected as a Trustee during the 10th General Assembly in Durban in October 2016.
The IAPB is the coordinating, umbrella organisation that leads international efforts to mobilise resources for blindness prevention activities. VFAN joined in 2015 and is one of over 150 member organisations.
The Board of Trustees is the key governing body of the IAPB, setting strategic priorities and overseeing the implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan. The board is made of up of representatives from the IAPB membership and meets twice a year.
The nomination follows Tom’s success in winning the “Rising Chief Executive” category at the 2016 Third Sector Excellence Awards. The prize is awarded to the chief executive who has made outstanding contributions to their organisation or the wider sector.
